REcap

REcap is a series of circular cups – sustainable alternatives to disposable cups. It connects the world of coffee and the principles of the circular economy: used coffee grounds, which would otherwise end up in waste, are cascade recycled and transformed into a unique material that gives life to a new product.

The material used is the result of a development collaboration between Plastia and the Faculty of Chemistry of the Brno University of Technology (BUT). Each cup thus carries a story about the transformation of waste into a design and functional product for everyday use.

The design is designed with ergonomics, durability and requirements for compactness during transport in mind. In addition to individual use, REcap is intended primarily for the HORECA and B2B segment, where it helps operators of cafes, restaurants and catering services reduce costs and their ecological footprint, while offering customers an aesthetically and functionally high-quality solution. At the same time, the cups are gradually being implemented not only in coffee chains in our country and abroad, but also at events such as festivals, trade fairs and other events.

The circular REcap cup won the prestigious international German Design Award 2026 for design.
